Returning to the digital world + who I am
Hello, friends! If you have followed me before, on social media or elsewhere, you may have noticed that I have not been active anywhere online for about six months. This was a very intentional choice, and I have to say that the benefits to my mental health have been tremendous, but as someone whose chosen vocation is writing in the internet era, I’ve determined it wiser to have some kind of presence online. So, here I am, back with a newsletter again!
If you’re totally new to me, welcome! I’m C.M. Green, a writer with a focus on history, memory, gender, and religion. I publish poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and stuff that defies categorization. I think a lot about christianity and transmasculinity and historical memory and madness, and I do my best to write about these things thoughtfully as well. If you want a taste of my work, you could check out this poem or this story or this essay. Or, you could head to my website and see more!
If you subscribed to the prior iteration of the Imaginary Novelist, you knew it as a place where I posted essays on spirituality. I’m still very interested in that topic, but this monthly newsletter will be a bit different. I’ll share what writing I’m working on, what I’m reading, listening to, and watching, and what I’m thinking about that month. It’ll be more of an ‘update’ than the old Imaginary Novelist was, but there will still be plenty of space for pondering those imponderable questions!
I’m looking forward to sharing a bit of my writing life with you—and thank you for subscribing!
In solidarity,
C.M. Green (he/they)
